I am going to brag a little because I am super proud of my latest project! This isn’t the first headboard I’ve made, but there is truth to the saying “third times a charm”. It would be pointless for me to give you a tutorial on diy headboards as there are literally hundreds on the web. I used a collection of them between my three headboards and some were better than others.
Headboard #1 can be seen here in my bedroom. It was simple to make but I skipped the sanding step on the edges thinking the batting would smooth out any rough edges. Oops. Headboard #2 was a diamond tufted headboard that I followed one tutorial’s advice to use pegboard. Little did I know that staples do not like pegboard. Aside from the blood, sweat and lots of tears the headboard came out nicely (you’ll see it in a room reveal soon). After the mishaps of #1 and #2, I decided to come up with my own design and steps for #3. I didn’t reinvent the wheel, and I honestly didn’t know if my design plan would even work. But it came out beautiful and sexy and so very fabulous. What do you think?
