Well hello there. I’m sorry I went MIA for a couple of weeks. I now have two school age children so I took time off from blogging to get
me them settled into a routine. But it just so happens that I have a fantastic before & after to make up for my absence! I recently joined a local mid century furniture FB page and stumbled upon these crazy cool tulip base stools. At only $30 each, I absolutely couldn’t resist. For those of you that don’t know, I have a major chair addiction…and stools totally count as chairs.
But they are much more practical! You can use them for seating, foot stools, side tables…the possibilities are endless! In the photo it looks like the seats are brown but they were actually an odd “hospital waiting room” mauve-ish color. Yuck. While looking for fabric to recover them in, I stumbled across this blog post over at Little Green Notebook (LOVE Jenny Komenda–I’ve been following her blog for years!). My family has joked for over a decade about my claim that ANYTHING can be painted. And vinyl is no exception! I wanted a bright color, something to really stand out against the black walls in my study. I opted for hot pink. Call me crazy. Just three years ago it would have been the second-to-last color on my list, coming in just slightly higher than purple. But having a daughter made me take a second look and now I have it in small doses in almost every room in my house.
The paint is Design Master Spray Paint in Rasberry from Michaels. It’s $8 but I used a 40% off coupon. This was my first time to use this paint and let me tell you…it is fabulous.
I am completely swooning over these. L-O-V-E. What do you think?
