I have been on the hunt for a mid century style desk for my boys’ bedroom for several months. There are so many great varieties out there, but I just wasn’t willing to fork over much cash for a piece of furniture that will potentially be covered in stickers, scratched up, or some other destruction destined to happen in a boy’s room. (Am I right?!) On this particular day I had been thrifting for a few hours, searching for client treasures without any luck, when I stumbled across this amazing desk! It is solid wood and of solid construction. And it was $50. Fifty bones, people. Sometimes I can’t even believe my own luck. The size was perfect for their room and the color coordinates nicely with their headboard. So it was an all around score! Their room has been sorely neglected the last year or so and kind of fallen apart, style wise. Oops. But I’m a (designer) mom on a mission now.
I just purchased this duvet cover from Urban Outfitters. It’s on clearance for $45 and my boys think it’s super cool. I’m not a big fan of themed room for kids but as mine get older, I am embracing the idea of the design plan incorporating things they love (I mean…that is my design philosophy anyway…just hard to give over control in my own house!) In light of that, we will cover the walls in super hero art. And I think it will be super.
