I have been on the hunt for a mid century style desk for my boys’ bedroom for several months. I LOVE brass bar carts. I’ve bought two in the last month for crazy cheap, even though I didn’t think I had a place for one in my home. My dining room has a wall of built-ins (what I consider to be a butler’s pantry) and we use it as our bar. When I started decorating my new home office (a room we lovingly refer to as The Study), it hit me…I had the perfect spot for a bar cart!
The room is filled with windows and built-in bookcases, except for this small area directly behind my desk.
Let’s face it, most people watch tv. And tv’s aren’t exactly a pretty object in a room. That’s why the the tv console has to be both functional and attractive. My clients M+C needed something large and substantial for their living room tv. I found this credenza on craigslist for $100. The size was perfect, the lines masculine, and it had ample storage (big issue in this space).
I need a new sofa. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my 10 ft., 1960′s vintage sofa with it’s original fabric, curved sectional end and round back cushions. It’s seriously stunning. I found it at Lula B’s in Dallas and fell madly in love. We were house hunting at the time so I had no idea what type of living room I would have. But I just couldn’t get the sofa out of my head. I took my husband to see it and as we debated, the salesman came over to put a hold sign on it (for someone over the phone).
